Clinging to hope: the Latin Patriarch on the reconstruction of life and soul
In a heartfelt reflection on one of the most difficult periods in modern history, H.B. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa expresses his deep concern about the damage caused by the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the entire Holy Land. However, Pizzaballa insists on the need to keep hope alive. Not with the illusion of an imminent solution to the conflict, but through the resilience of those committed to rebuilding spirits and re-establishing bonds between members of society. Not only in material reconstruction, but in the restoration of humanity itself. He highlights that hope is a choice, an attitude of life embraced by those who are determined to serve others. He believes that true hope exists where people continue to sacrifice and volunteer.
